Thanksgiving Thank You

Hi Cynthia,

I wanted to write to tell you about our wonderful Thanksgiving this
year.  I planted a larger garden this year, and used only heirloom seeds
from Seed Savers.  As the garden grew, I became more and more excited
about planning for Thanksgiving, and making this year’s meal a true
harvest party.  I began to fill my freezer and pantry with organic,
multicolored vegetables from my garden.  I also took advantage of the
wonderful fruit and pumpkins from your farm to make and freeze jams and
fillings for pumpkin and apple pies.  As Thanksgiving approached, I
ordered two Muscovy ducks to grace our table as well.  Your beets
rounded off the bounty of nourishment.  We have a potluck style dinner
with our family, but all of the food that my husband and I put on the
table this year was either from my garden or your farm.

As I am sure that you know, when you feed good food to your body, your
body in turn just feels good.  I was so happy when our kids picked up
the small blue corn cobs and munched them without butter or salt. 
Everyone commented on how sweet the beets were (also with nothing but
the beet) and about how they had never tasted beets like that before. 
The duck was a new experience for most of us, and even people who said
they weren’t interested in the new fowl for dinner, changed their
opinion after trying it.  Even the pumpkin and apple/sunberry pies
tasted like they were the final piece of a good, nourishing meal. 
People just kept saying, “Everything is so good this year!”

I felt especially thankful year, and happy, because we were really
“feeding” our family.
